Future of Learning Southeast Asia Conference 2024

This session will focus on developing mentoring programs to empower educators to implement effective teaching strategies that promote a responsive learning environment and drive effective student learning. The session will highlight the DLSZ mentoring program, which has contributed to the De La Salle Santiago Zobel School (DLSZ) receiving the Apple Distinguished School distinction. It will showcase how the program integrates blended learning, education technology tools, the ADS Inspire-Imagine-Impact rubric, and innovative teaching methods to create a transformative learning environment for the students. The session will emphasize the importance of building a culture of reflection, innovation, and continuous growth through Professional Learning Communities (PLCs). Participants will also learn how to create customized professional development resources (learning playlists) to support teachers in adopting new pedagogies and technologies. The session will also share the DLSZ's EdTech Impact Report, which assesses the effectiveness of technology integration in enhancing teaching practices and student outcomes. By the end of the session, participants will be equipped with the practical tools to design effective mentoring programs that promote transformative teaching practices, encourage professional collaboration, and contribute to school success.

As educators we continuously want to improve our own practice. We also regularly identify ways in which our school can improve - in our classroom, department or across the entire organisation. We all have creative ideas, but how do we implement them? And how do we bring our vision to reality?  Whatever your role is in your school, you can create change. Maybe you don’t believe you have the authority or status to implement new initiatives. Or maybe within your leadership position you are cautious of initiating some changes for fear of failure or rejection. In this session we will explore a practical set of necessary skills and tools that will support you in your mission for successful, sustainable change. Providing a framework to ensure the best possible outcome with the least amount of resistance.

In this session, participants will dive into leadership and coaching strategies that are key to achieving 100% Apple Teacher certification and fostering EdTech brilliance. Drawing from Xavier School’s journey as an Apple Distinguished School, participants will be introduced to innovative approaches for designing professional learning opportunities that cater to teachers’ diverse needs and experience levels, making professional development (PD) more relevant and responsive. The session will emphasize the importance of sustaining an EdTech program through impactful, ongoing PDs that not only address varying levels of tech proficiency, but also promote teacher agency, empowering them to continuously innovate in their classrooms. By creating a culture of growth, collaboration, and designing PDs that inspire lasting engagement, school leaders and coaches will be equipped to ensure that EdTech integration remains meaningful, effective, and future-ready. Participants will leave with actionable strategies to lead their teams toward full Apple Teacher certification and sustained EdTech success.

This session explores how generative AI can enhance established school leadership frameworks, providing practical tools to amplify vision, strategy, and action. We'll examine how AI can be integrated into leadership practices across various domains, including daily operations and school accreditation processes.
Learn how AI can practically support leadership frameworks by:

1. Generating innovative approaches to vision-setting and strategic planning 
2. Analyzing school data to inform decision-making and improvement initiatives 
3. Streamlining administrative tasks to focus more on impactful leadership 
4. Enhancing accreditation processes, from self-studies to documentation 

Through practical examples you can try on your own, we'll demonstrate AI's potential in reinforcing leadership frameworks. You'll see practical applications in crafting strategic plans, analyzing performance trends, and preparing comprehensive reports for stakeholders and accrediting bodies. We'll address ethical considerations and share best practices for integrating AI into leadership frameworks. You'll leave with actionable strategies to incorporate AI into your leadership approach, enhancing your ability to drive meaningful change. This session is designed for school leaders seeking practical ways to leverage AI within their leadership frameworks, offering valuable insights for both day-to-day leadership and managing key processes like accreditation.

After a few minutes of showcasing two meaningful projects created with Apple Pages, teachers, leaders, and inspiring leaders will collaborate with peers to lend their voices and opinions to a micro-project.  All voices and opinions are welcome as we collect opinions on the challenge of leading a school, department, student body, or classroom. This session will showcase the value of combining customized templates with the foundational skills of Apple Pages to encourage and collect the opinions and voices of everyone in the room. Most of the skills used are easily transferable to Keynote, FreeForm, Numbers, and more. The two school-wide projects that will be showcased include a 140-Page multimedia book that students created using the Design Thinking Cycle and Apple Pages to address  a real-world problem that students faced at our school. The other is an interactive book created by the presenter to address critical thinking questions for students when using generative AI.

Our session will focus on the implementation of leadership within our school and the opportunities available for students to develop their skills through these initiatives. We are three students actively participating in the digital leadership strand at our school, where we are responsible for integrating technology to enhance the learning experiences of students at GIS. During our session, we will share our experiences and discuss how they can contribute to strengthening leadership capabilities. By addressing both our accomplishments and the challenges we've encountered, we aim to offer valuable insights and strategies for students to excel in leadership and collaborate effectively within teams. We believe that cultivating a strong leadership culture is vital for student success.

This workshop aims to showcase a program at The ISF Academy which helps equip our teaching assistants with the necessary technological skills to effectively support co-teachers and students in a digital learning environment. Topics that will be covered but aren't limited to are Graphic Design, AR, AI & Professional Learning Communities.
